Purpose
Within the CAT PE Community, our primary objective is to offer robust support to schools in enhancing their physical activity, sport and wellbeing. As part of this community, we will hold regular CAT PE meetings tailored for PE subject leads, ensuring an environment for all to feel comfortable collaborating and sharing knowledge. We will also be working closely with all the schools in the trust to facilitate termly PE training sessions designed to adapt for each school and provide staff and subject leads with the latest pedagogy and procedures within PE teaching.
To support the training, we will create and extensive knowledge base, full of resources to equip teachers, subject leaders and schools with the tools needed to deliver high-quality PE for all. As well as this broad range of support, as part of the community, we will be providing school improvement support (if required), via School Improvement Directors of CLTA.
Within the CAT PE Community, we pride ourselves on committing to deliver and support the best physical education for all schools within the Trust, to be available for all pupils. We believe that a significant part of leading a physical and mentally healthy lifestyle is playing sport and being physically active, and wholeheartedly believe that a strong PE curriculum is essential for young people’s development, not just in sport but also in life and how regular exercise and involvement in sport can improve mental health.
